Series Overview:
This four-part series provides healthcare professionals with the skills to interpret a 3-lead EKG.  It begins with a description of the hearts anatomy and physiology with emphasis on its conduction system.  A detailed description of a normal 3-lead EKG rhythm strip is also presented along with 7-step method for its interpretation.

The other three programs focus on cardiac dysrhythmias including sinus arrhythmia, sinus bradycardia; sinus tachycardia; atrial fibrillation; atrial flutter, junctional dysrhythmias; first degree heart block; second degree heart block, Mobitz type I; second degree heart block, Mobitz type II; third degree heart block; ventricular tachycardia; ventricular defibrillation; asystole; and pulseless electrical activity.  For each dysrhythmia, its pathophysiology is discussed, its 3-lead EKG waveform is explained, and interventions are explored.
Still art and animation are used to enhance the material.  In addition, rhythm strips are utilized throughout to illustrate the variances in the waveform for each pathology as well as demonstrate the 7-Step Method of rhythm interpretation.
