In February 2012, the editors of Prevention Magazine discuss the affect of exposure to light disrupting sleep patterns and the link to weight gain.  The editor's have recommended 3 tips on how to give your body the darknesses it needs including:

1. Install room-darkening shades
2. Wear a sleep mask
3. Block Blue Light.  The blue spectrum of lights is primarily responsible for shutting down melatonin production; replace regular bulbs in your bedroom and bathroom with low-blue bulbs to cut your exposure (find them on heat.ca)
